Aloha Palestine was created to transport people and cargo into and out of Palestine. Originally the intention was to do this by sea, but with the fall of the Mubarak regime in Egypt, the strategy and methods have changed. Our ultimate objective is to end the blockade and provide travel and trade for the people of Palestine, without obstruction.
Five years into Israel’s collective punishment policy of blockading Gaza, there is virtually no trade between Gaza and the world. Israel argues that aid is flowing into Gaza and that all is well. The truth however is that an aid industry has evolved, with Israel as a major player, and while the business of transporting and delivering aid is proceeding, the people of Gaza live largely in abject poverty… and they will continue to do so until unhindered trade is resumed.

The Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, a treaty entered into by the EU member states and 16 ‘partner countries’ (including Egypt and Palestine) has resulted in sub-agreements such as the 1997 Euro-Mediterranean Interim Association Agreement between the European Community & Palestinian Authority, this agreement mandates the following objectives:
• to contribute to the social and economic development of the West Bank and Gaza Strip
• to establish the conditions for the progressive liberalization of trade
• to foster the development of balanced economic and social relations between the Parties through dialogue and cooperation
It further states that the objectives of cooperation will be:
• promoting investments in tourism
• promoting intra-regional trade
• improved passenger and freight services both at bilateral and regional level
‘Relations between the Parties, as well as all the provisions of the Agreement itself, shall be based on respect of democratic principles and fundamental human rights as set out in the universal declaration on human rights, which guides their internal and international policy and constitutes an essential element of this Agreement.’ Euro-Mediterranean Interim Association Agreement between the European Community & Palestinian Authority (Article 2)
Aloha Palestine is a EU based company, we are transporting trade items such as raw materials and machinery intended to foster economic development. We understand the issues in Gaza we are seek an end to Gaza’s status as a charitable dependency. If we are blocked or hindered in any way, we will hold not only the offending party in violation of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, an international treaty, but we call the EU to account and demand it protect the trading rights of an EU based company conducting lawful trade and commerce.
